At this point in the game I am about half way done with my research. My main focus is Calypso music and how it evolved. While Calypso music was evolving it gave birth to two new forms of music, known as Soca and Rapso. I am also researching those two types of music and how they evolved from Calypso and are different from each other. Throughout my research process I have gone through some struggles. At first My original plan was to research the differences in Soca and Calypso. But after further research I have found out the Soca came from Calypso and Rapso along with it. So I changed my topic to how both of those styles of music evolved from Calypso and the differences. Another challenge that I have run into was the lack of information I have found about Rapso music.                       In the short funeral tale from Guadeloupe,  “ Tetiyette and the Devil ”  is a story of a woman with one child, who is very hard to please. In this love story gone bad, the girl made the wrong choices of picking external beauty over internal and had to deal with the consequences in the long run.  As this author writes this short story I believe she is trying to reach young people. While reaching young people she is trying to get across the point of not picking external beauty over internal. Tetiyette found out that this is very important in her short-lived love story. She picked a handsome fella instead of the ones with the good heart. She was warned by her parents for the beginning. When she ended up getting hurt by the handsome fella her parents didn ’ t even care at that point because they had already warned her. The reason I say this is because when the devil was eating her the father said,  “ Agh! I don ’ t give a damn! I had already warned her to bewa
